  1. Who does this policy apply to?

  1. What is an Electric Vehicle?

3.1          For the purpose of this policy an EV is any vehicle that uses electric motors, either fully or partially, to drive its wheels. It will derive some or all its power from rechargeable batteries which require connection to the electricity grid (plug-in). This includes fully chargeable and plug-in hybrid cars, motorbikes, buggies, scooters, mopeds, bicycles, utility vehicles and tracked vehicles.

  1. Domestic chargers are not permitted at the Property

4.1          Most EVs are supplied with a domestic charger, commonly known as a ‘granny charger’ or a ‘trickle charger’. These cables recharge the EV using a domestic power source via a 3-pin wall socket

4.2          Domestic chargers are not suitable for use in the Property and will create a fire hazard. The use of domestic chargers is strictly forbidden. Your breakages deposit will be detained  if granny chargers are found to be used.

4.3          We retain the right to carry out reasonable inspection, on a without notice basis, to ensure that granny chargers are not in use in the Property.

4.4          You are solely liable for any damage or loss suffered by us as a result of your unauthorised use of domestic chargers. The only charging permitted is via the car charger.

  1. Dedicated charging points

5.1          Beck Cottage, Mews Hill, Criddlestyle Cottage, Forest Drove Cottage, Arniss, Galtons Cottage, The Quays and Osmund House have one dedicated charge point. It is the user’s sole responsibility to supply a suitable charging cable to avail of the Charging Point

5.2          The charging point is exclusively for the use of the Booking Party and our staff. Visitors to the Property who do not comprise the Booking Party are not permitted to use the facilities without our express permission.

Current fees at time of going to press range from 57 pence per unit to 77 pence inclusive vat. It is a 7.4 kwh charge and it takes from 7 to 10 hours to fully charge a vehicle dependent of it’s size.

5.6          We do not guarantee the availability of a Charging point and unavailability of the Charging point shall not constitute a breach of our Guest Terms.

5.7          Authorisation for the use of a Charging point during your stay must be notified to us and given prior to arrival.  We reserve the right to withdraw this authority at any time and for any reason.

5.8          Use of the Charging point is at the owner of the car’s  risk and we do not accept any liability for loss or damage sustained by you or your EV as a result of using the Charging point unless the damage was caused directly by our negligence

If a call out is required by the service engineer it is charged at a minimum of £85 + vat per call out per hour and this cost plus materials will be taken from the breakages deposit if any damage is sustained by you, any member of the booking party or your cars during your stay.
