Riverside Lodge

A Cedar Clad Lodge in a secluded rural setting with open plan kitchen/diner/lounge, underfloor heating and wood stove. Bi-fold doors open to a verandah with views across a small lake and the Hampshire Avon. Fishing included.Hot tub and woodland camping pod. 3 Bedrooms, 2 bathrooms.

The Lodge looks down on the Hampshire Avon, one of the most beautiful and best coarse fishing rivers in the UK with the best view possible for stunning sunsets across the river and water meadow. This cedar-clad Riverside Lodge with glamping pod literally sits on a small lake in an elevated location within yards of the river. The Pod is located at the rear of the Lodge within 15 metres in the ancient woodland with a direct path to the Lodge. There is side access to toliet and Shower room in the Lodge. Open plan living area and secluded location, free fishing on the lake and one swim on the river, additional fishing available along with a further stretch of the river at additional cost.

 

A wonderful Welcome pack is provided including a bottle of Prosecco, New Forest Spring Water locally produced Tutti Fruity Jam, Biscuits, Milk, Tea & Coffee*. Also a discount Go New Forest card to be used locally which can provide discounts when used with participating businesses.

For larger groups why not combine our Mews Hill or Criddlestyle Cottage properties located within the same private location. Up to 25 guests can be accommodated and we give a 5% discount for multiple bookings.

   

Additional facilities available

  • Hot tub  5 – 6 person available on request at £325 for the weekend and £400 for the week.
  • An adjoining 2-acre paddock and stables for two horses are available on a DIY basis if you wish to bring your own horse at £100 per horse per week. The paddock adjoins a bridleway which gives access to the National Park.
  • 80 yards of exclusive private fishing on the Hampshire Avon only a few hundred yards from the house. There are 4 good swims suitable for specimen coarse fishing. £75 pp PW or £35 pp for a weekend. Please note that day tickets can be obtained for the immediately adjoining Sandy Balls 1/2 mile stretch of the river for £10 per day pp.
  • You can hire our state of the art electric mountain bike, Trek Powerfly LT4 plus with a 50 mile range on each charge. £125 for the week-end or mid-week and £175 for a 7 night break  (£250 security deposit required)

The kitchen is fully equipped with crockery, dish washer, fridge/freezer, washewr/drier, microwave, kettle, toaster, hob, oven.

Lounge & Dining

Open plan lounge, kitchen diner with bi-fold doors which open up to a verandah with lake and river views. Perfect for watching the wildlife and sunsets and doing a spot of fishing on the lake. Underfloor heating as well as a cosy wood burner, high ceilings and sateliite TV.

Bathroom 1 with bath and shower overhead
Bathroom 2 double shower (also accessible directly from outside for camping pod access)

GardenPicnic table, barbecue, seating, log store, plus a garden shed for fishing tackle storage and bikes with extra fridge.

Further Information

Facilities and Services Underfloor heating and electricity and towels included; private parking for up to three cars. Short breaks available, Friday to Friday bookings. Not suitable for children under 10 due to the fast flowing river and adjacent lake, or less mobile due to access down the steep slope from car parking area.Dogs are welcome but need to be kept on a lead outside due to the deer.

  • There is a £250 refundable security deposit to ensure against damage.
  • Dogs are charged at £40 per dog.
  • The first basket of logs for the wood burner in the lounge is free and then £5 per basket thereafter.
  • Private fishing included in the rent from the lake and one swim on the river.
