We spent a week in South Farm as four families with kids ranging from 1 to 13, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. So much space for big groups to hang out, to cook and eat together, to bbq, and to sit and watch movies (most group accommodation never has enough living room sitting space). We used it as a base to see the area, but also spent many days on site swimming in the pool, playing tennis, playing football, playing in the play barn, and lounging in the hot tub. The kids haven’t stopped talking about the place since we left and I hope we can come back next year.
Nestled on gentle slopes between Honiton and Cullompton in East Devon, we offer self contained holiday accommodation with a choice of seven self catering cottages and a large farm house that sleeps 10 with its own hot tub. South Farm is an idyllic family holiday destination within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty less than an hour’s drive from Exmoor or Dartmoor. The guests at South Farm holiday cottages can enjoy stunning views and share the wonderful facilities.
Fishing holidays in Devon
South Farm offers self catering holiday cottages in Devon with free fishing open all year. Set in the beautiful Blackdown Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
A variety of accommodation is available ranging from the charming Lake Cottage with lake views from every window that sleeps 4, the recently refurbished Stables Cottage that sleeps 6 with it’s lovely bright conservatory with views across the Blackdown Hills, if it is just the two of you then there is Swallow Cottage that sleeps 2 located in a peaceful courtyard, Coshes Garden sleeps 5 and has magnificent views from it’s lawned garden, Cinders Cottage sleeps 6 and has the same wonderful views as Coshes, then there is Carp Lodge which is a spacious timber Lodge that sleeps 6 in 2 bedrooms and if you have a larger group why not book the Farm House (sleeps 10) and Oaktree Cottage (sleeps 6) as it has a connecting door to sleep 16. Altogether South Farm can accommodate 45 guests if you are looking for accommodation for a large group.
There are many facilities on hand for all ages as well as the fishing, there is a tennis court, a play park for the children and a games room for those rainy days. There is also a seasonal spa and sauna available, an outdoor swimming pool and the poolside summer house for holiday activities. Dogs and horses are welcome for those who want to venture out from the farm with some great woodland walks within a short stroll.
