Very attractive, well appointed house, well equipped and perfect location within Christchurch. Accommodation excellent and well suited to our requirements.

House was just what we needed

House was just what we needed for a family gathering, historic, large with many historic features but still felt homely. Plenty of room for 25 people and well equipped. Would recommend.

The Quays is perfect for a large group stay with plenty of space and amenities close at hand as Richard and his guests found during their stay in January 2026. Here is their 5 star review.

We enjoyed a lovely Christmas with the Martin Family. The venue was most suitable. Lovely surroundings, great shops and walks.Fab place, enjoyed.

Thank you Kate for your 5 star AirBnB review for your stay at Quay Corner and we do own Quay Corner and all the properties we have on our website, that way we can make them a real home from home. In terms of the rubbish we have to use Commerical waste but we have asked to have a recycling facility, so hopefully that will be in place soon.

Quay Corner was a perfect place for a family gathering. Beautifully appointed with good parking, it was great for us all to gather from different corners. It was surprising that there was no recycling facilities. The property is part of the Short Stay Homes group and is therefore commerically managed. The team was very responsive to questions but aern’t the home owners.

Quay House is a great venue for a large group to be able to enjoy each other’s company in spacious surroundings in the heart of a lovely town and not to mention great for your pets too, the garden is enclosed and is close to some wonderful walks.

Superb stay at The Quays, Christhcurch. Perfect accommodation for 20 people in our extended family. Well equipped, space for everyone, plenty of parking, a hot tub, all in an amazing location. With local amenities on the doorstep and plenty of activities/days out nearby, our family (of varied ages) thoroughly enjoyed the week there. Short Stay Homes were brilliant throughout. Great communication and instructions – loved their little app which was a great way to make sure everyone in the family had all the information they needed about the property. Would defintely recommend Short Stay Homes and The Quays in Christchurch.

Beautiful, well equipped home, in a perfect location. Plenty to do at the house, great pubs, restaurants, parks and shops nearby. We had a fabulous family celebration here and would defintely come back.

Quay House in Dorset not only provides ample accommodation for guests but is in the heart of the charming town of Christchurch with lots to see and do. As the guests have said there is no need to use the car as there is so much within walking distance of the house.

A special property in a great location

A lovely large property in a beautiful location. A place where you can drive to and then leave the car for a week as there is a lot to do within walking distance. Clean with all the comforts you would expect. Lovely place this was our 2nd visit.

We had a great stay at The Quays. We are a large group of 6 families and the accommodation worked really well for us. Lots of space for everyone to gather as one big group or in smaller groups. The location offered something for everyone being close to the coast and town. Would definitely recommend

Wonderful “Twixmas” stay at Quay House

We had a wonderful “Twixmas” stay at Quay House in Christchurch. The house is beautiful and the location fabulous. On our arrival, we were allowed entry a little earlier than planned and briefly met the very friendly and helpful staff who had just finished preparing the house for us – impeccably. Everything about the house was superb – it suited our needs perfectly in every way. Clean, spacious rooms with delightful furnishings and decor. We use the kitchen facilities most days and everything we needed was provided. Located right next to the magnificent Priory and Town Quay, with all of the lovely stores and places to eat/drink just a short stroll around the corner. Excellent walks from the doorstep around to Hengistbury Head or take a ferry for a shorter walk, and lovely beaches (e.g.: Avon Beach) a short drive away. All in all a wonderful place to stay.

Quay Corner in Christchurch was a great fit for our guests who stayed in October 2024 and for one it was a bit of a walk down memory lane. We hope we hear from them again.

Great place to stay

Grandparents with children and grandchildren, ten in total, we were very pleased with the house and its amenities, the surroundings and settings. It fit our needs perfectly. A somewhat nostalgic grandfather bringing his family to see where he studied almost fifty years ago in Bournemouth, we all enjoyed our stay in Christchurch. We will certainly bear Short Stay Homes in mind, should we need accommodation on return to the south of England.

Thank you Nick for your 5 star Trust Pilot review  for Quay House for your stay in June 2024. As you say Quay House is close to Christchurch Quay and benefits from lovely walks on the doorstep into the thriving market town of Christchurch or a leisurely stroll by the river.

We are glad that the clock tower did not disturb your rest too much and we hope to host you again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Quay House, the house is a gem, large enough for a party of 14 that gave us alot of space, yet to get together easily. The location next to the Priory was lovely (although the bell ringng during the night was an initial problem solved by ear plugs!) The close proximity to the centre of Christchurch, the water and various walks was perfect. The administration (emails,documentation, website) by Short Stay Homes was professional and friendly. The property was delivered very clean with an impressive inventory of kictchen utensils! We would definitely stay again.

It is not often that you can rent a house that can accommodate a whole choir and be absolutely beautiful as well.

The Quays was perfect for Sally and her choir who gave us a 5 star Trust Pilot Review. We hope to welcome them again.

Quality family time was had for the May 2024 School holiday  at Quay House by this family group.

Another lovely week here at Quay House, quality family time and added bonus of the food festival. Lots of great paddle boarding too.

The Christchurch Food festival is a very popular event in Christchurch  and Quay House is the perfect place to stay for it.

We even took part one year with professional chef demonstrations in the lovely spacious kitchen on how to make proferoles…yummy! .

This was our 3rd multigenerational holiday at The Quays and was just as great as the others! The house is fabulous – spacious, comfortable and well-equipped. We had such a wonderful family holiday staying at The Quays in Christchurch. The property was amazing – spotlessly clean and furnished and equipped with everything you could need and much more. We were 11 adults and 6 children and it was great to stay in a house where we could easily relax, play and eat together. And Short stay homes were so helpful before and during our stay. We will definitely be back.

What an amazing house! We all had an amazing time celebrating an 80th, 23rd and mothers day. The location is perfect, with both the river and town just round the corner. (and the church over the wall!) Just a 10 minute drive away is Hengistbury Head which is the perfect place to watch the sunset. It was the perfect venue for 19 (supposed to be 21!) of us and it was so nice to see everyone; travelling from Cornwall, Devon, Hampshire and West Sussex! The weather was perfect for our stay. It’s like they knew we were coming.

A lovely weekend – luckily we got our Hengistbury Head walk in before Storm Ciara hit…. 3 generations loved the space and the well equipped kitchen. And the fresh flowers were a lovely welcome!

 Quay Corner feels like our second home

Our annual stay here has been fabulous once again. We love it here and we’re sorry to leave, it feels like our second home.

Many special memories made!

Our annual family outing!

Grandma, Grandpa, two daughters, two son-in-laws and four adventurous teenage boys. Unfortunately weather variable but that didn’t stop us. Managed two days on the beach and in the sea. Plenty of cycle routes (bought cycles with us and kept in shed). Cycled to Bournemouth, Grandma went on a zip wire for the first time in her life. Plenty to do in the locality – plenty of green and pine locally for football, cricket etc.

Great house ideally situated, very comfortable and well equipped.

We’ve had the most amazing weekend in this outstanding, luxurious, fantastic property. Everything about the house has just added to a really perfect weekend. 13 of us from the ages of 13 through to 88 have enjoyed this location, the garden, all the lovely spacious bedrooms and most of all the meals we’ve had around the huge dining table.We would all love to come back again next year.

Well equipped property with excellent living space for the group. Location was fabulous for the town and even better we could all park which is tough to find in the area. You need to be aware that being so central comes with the sounds of Christchurch itself. Light sleepers may hear the bells, but it comes part of being so central! Would definitely recommend and return to the property, exactly as described.
