Blackdown Views with Shepherds Hut Sleeps 14
Very quiet and peaceful
We have been stocking Marlpit, the exclusive fishing lake at Blackdown Views with extra fish to entice the avid angler and it has certainly paid off with the Wicks family who stayed at the end of July until the beginning of August 2024 who really enjoyed the fishing.
House was lovely for 8 adults & 3 children very quiet & peaceful . The big boys loved the fishing too .
The road to it was challenging but worth it

A Dream Christmas Location!
We love to set our properties up for Christmas with Christmas trees and plenty of logs for the wood burners and it looks like these guests were very appeciative and so enjoyed their festive stay at our New Forest Cottages. You will be happy to know that we have boosted the wifi signal and this has resulted in the EV chargers performing much better. Thank you for such a great Trust Pilot review and a Merry Christmas from the Short Stay Homes Team .
A Dream Christmas Location!
We initially found these cottages searching for Christmas stays on the web, on bigger aggregate sites, but contacted them direct and we’re so glad we did! From the moment we contacted Short Stay Homes to make the booking, during our stay, and post, the service, responses and actions were exemplary. The accommodations at Mews Hill and Criddlestyle, in the New Forest, were true to the description and photo gallery on the website, and more! Across the two cottages there was more than enough room and comfort to accommodate the family, 16 adults & 3 dogs! We had all our main meals together in Mews Hill with easily enough space and cooking facilities. The lounges, dining areas & kitchens / cooking facilities, were all so well appointed and the bedroom and living areas, comfortable and cosy. There was also enough bathrooms to accommodate everyone! The standout features in each cottage are definitely the log burners, and the decorated Christmas trees in each cottage were the final touch to give it that Christmas feel! Also the hot tub, which was great! A couple of things that could be better are: 1. The wi-fi signal, which on a couple of days was intermittent (more for the younger adults) and 2. The electric car chargers in each cottage. We found it impossible to get these working either using the QR code or downloading the relevant app. (There was a fast charger less than a 5min drive away) Those small points aside, our Christmas week being in the New Forest was the ideal location for walks, including post Christmas dinner and to the local pub! There was a village a short drive away for any needed shopping. Then of course the River Avon a short walk away! So Christmas in two lovely cottages, in a beautiful setting, I’d highly recommend it!

South Farm – The Farm House Devon – Sleeps up to 10 and with Oaktree Cottage up to 16
A Wonderful week
A wonderful week was had by these guests who stayed at the Farmhouse at South Farm for their Summer holiday in August 2024 and just thought we would include a photo of the immaculate mown lawn that was mentioned in despatches!
Thank you Justin and Pippa for a wonderful week. We have enjoyed the wonderful facilities on site including the basketball hoop, tennis court, fishing lakes, swimming pool, playground, immaculately mown garden lawn and the hot tub.
The house was perfect for 10 of us with plenty of space and everything we needed to pass our time in ease and comfort.
The friendly welcome, the biscuits and cookies (and the milk) all helped us settle in quickly.
We had great days out in Diggerland, Lyme Regis and some of the local pubs as well as the massive Maize Maze only 10 minutes away

We certianly agree with Mark that the Riverside Lodge is a ‘Cracking place to stay’ on his visit in July 2024. It is particularly lovely at this time of year.

Such a lovely place. Really picturesque surroundings which have left us feeling very relaxed.And Justin and Pippa were lovely hosts. Ther children really loved the pool and games room!

Fantastic location, lovely surroundings with plenty to do on site. Justin and Pippa were so friendly and couldn’t do enough for us to make sure we had an enjoyable relaxing stay. It was our second time and look forward to going again.
