With Halloween, fireworks night and Christmas fast approaching, below is a look at the upcoming festive celebrations nearby!

Firework displays in the South

With many firework displays taking place in late October and early November, see below a selection of local events being held!

Ringwood Fireworks Carvers

The 2021 Ringwood Grand Fireworks event is scheduled to take place on Sunday 7th November at Carvers Recreation Ground! With 2 displays (one quiet), live music, fairground rides, bonfire, children’s entertainment, food and beer tent we are expecting this years event to be as popular as ever! The programme includes children’s entertainment, a ‘Low Bangs’ display, live music from the fabulous Swing Unlimited Big Band, Bonfire and Main fireworks display followed by Swing Unlimited to round out the event. Advanced tickets will be £1.50 and tickets on the gate £3.50. Pre-school children, disabled people and carers are free.

New Milton is the place to go to celebrate fireworks night in Hampshire. This charity fireworks event in at Fawcetts Field, New Milton on 30th October 2021 will feature plenty of fun for the whole family to enjoy, with gates opening at 5:30pm, bonfire lit at 6pm and the fireworks display taking place at 7pm. There will be hot and cold drinks, hot food, children’s rides, local sweets and cider and glow lights all available, all raising money for local charities supported by New Milton Round Table social club.

Pumpkin pastures

Fordingbridge Pumpkin Pastures are hosting their new fireworks display on Saturday 30th October 2021, with gates open at 6pm and the display starting at 7pm. Pick your own pumpkins and enjoy a wide array of activities including lots of crafts, rides & games for all the family to enjoy! Tickets are £5 for car + 1 person admission, and £5 for each additional passenger (all bookings must include “car + 1 person” ticket, then add the number of other tickets you need to the booking – no pedestrian admission).

Bournemouth Christmas Market

Set across the gardens and square in the middle of the town, Bournemouth Christmas Market is a fantastic festive location for adults and couples. With the Christmas Tree Wonderland trail through the gardens leading to lots of stalls to browse, the Alpine Bar in the square where you can soak up the festive atmosphere, indulge in some warm or chilled beverages and watch the world go by.

Bournemouth also offers excellent Christmas shopping locations on the high street as well as at Castlepoint nearby. These provide a great opportunity to get the Christmas shopping done during the day and enjoy the evening entertainment at the market, nearby restaurants or theatres.

Christmas in Ringwood

The market town of Ringwood hosts its returning Christmas Market this year, with the Winter Wanderland special celebration event kicking off events on Sunday 28th November 2021. Official switch-on will take place at 6pm after a day of festivities in the Town Centre which will include a Santa parade, grotto, street and stage entertainment, children’s fairground rides and a Christmas Market.

The event marks the start of the Christmas period in the town with a day of entertainment for children and families, the turning on of the Christmas Lights and a Christmas Market showcasing local crafts, foods, drinks and gifts.

Salisbury christmas high street

Salisbury has many festive activities taking place in the lead up to Christmas 2021. From mid-November the Christmas lights will be illuminating the high street, providing a wonderful atmosphere to accompany your Christmas shopping. There will be a destination bar and food area running until January 3rd 2022, as well as a Christmas Tree Trail, festive theatre at Salisbury Playhouse, live music and festive workshops throughout the city centre.

There will also be “Darkness to Light” processions where Salisbury Cathedral celebrates the start of Advent. These will be held on Friday 26th, Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th November, as well as the cathedral unveiling it’s Christmas tree on 8th December.
